Welcome to The Old School House

The Old School House is a relationship-first alternative provision for children and young people aged 7–16 who are finding mainstream education difficult.

Through calm, personalised learning and consistent support, we help each learner rebuild trust, confidence and a positive connection with education. Our approach begins with the individual, creating a safe and welcoming environment in which every young person can feel understood, valued and ready to learn.

Learning at The Old School House

Learning is shaped around each young person’s needs, strengths and interests. We combine purposeful education with practical activities and supportive relationships, helping learners make progress at a pace that feels achievable.

Our aim is to help every learner develop confidence, resilience and the skills they need for their next step.

The Old School House in Cadnam

A building with a story

The Old School House has supported children’s education for generations. Originally known as Cadnam Infant School, it opened in 1878 and served families in the local community until the school closed in 1971.

Today, Starfish AP is proud to give this historic building a renewed educational purpose. Once again, it will provide a welcoming place where children and young people can learn, grow in confidence and feel that they belong.
